In rescue, you never know if the pup you are taking in will cost $100 or $2500+ in vetting to get them ready for adoption. We also purchase everything a dog or puppy would need while they are in their foster homes (puppy pads, food, treats, toys, blankets, collars etc.) along with all the vetting they require.  All of this can add up and we, like most rescues, do not get any government funding and rely solely on adoption fees and donations to cover the expenses.  I don't think most people understand what truly goes into fostering/rescue, from the start to the end.  Bathing, de-fleaing, de-ticking, grooming when necessary, getting them healthy, spending countless hours with the ones that need the most care and love to gain their trust and to heal their broken hearts. It can be very hard but it is also more rewarding than anything we have done in our lives. 

Adoption Fee:

Adoption fee of $295 includes capstar, spay/neuter, microchip, heartworm testing (age appropriate) 2-3 de-wormings (puppies), rabies vaccination, series of 3 dhpp vaccinations for puppies and 1 dhpp vaccination for adults, baths & nail trimming and any other necessary procedures prior to adoption.

Senior adoption fees will be done on a dog by dog basis

Adoption Process:

If you are interested in meeting one of our dogs, you MUST complete an Adoption Application

If you have a general question, you can email us at: lonestarunderdogs@gmail.com 

Once we receive your application, it will be sent to the family that is fostering the pup you are interested in. They will review it and if they feel it is a good match, they will reach out to you with any additional questions they may have and/or to schedule a meet. 

If the foster and potential adopter both feel like it is a good match, the adoption process can be completed by filling out the Adoption Contract and paying the Adoption Donation.
